It’s been a while

So I know…it’s been a while…I’m sorry – it’s not you, it’s me. Really. Of course I still love you!

Sigh – I have been sooo busy that I haven’t had a chance to breath, let alone update – but I’m taking a few valuable minutes to do that, just for you.

So first things first: If you want to keep up with me, informally of course, follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/librarianAnna
I update that thing all the time, or anytime I go to the bathroom.
Which then updates my Facebook page – so find me there too…and on facebook I take random pictures and put them on there immediately (via phone – I love it!)

Now for the life – recent hurrah’s:
-I got onto CSC!!! Wooohooooo! It’s a two year commitment and I’m looking forward to it!
-Matthew celebrated his birthday and let me tell you – he was SHOCKED by his gift. He had NO idea that I did this, nor did he pick up on any of the lies. I made Matthew a Boudoir Album! I went through Varland Photography to do this and it was AWESOME! As soon as the pictures are online I’ll put a link here. But he really had NO CLUE that I did this and I thought for sure that he had an inkling..nope, nothing, nada. He was just so stunned he couldn’t talk. And he really like the pictures πŸ™‚ I am awesome :-).
-I got to see my sistah!

and now I have to go…I’ll try and update soon.

Come Get You Some!

So in reference to my title of this post, the saying is from the sign of a business that I pass EVERYDAY on my way to work…and this sign is the BANE of my existance. I hate the fact that it says “Come Get You Some” in reference to money….oh vey! So I had to share my disdain with everyone else.

And Yes, I am Alive and well (for the most part) I just haven’t had much time at home to update my blog, let alone breath. But I promise I’ll make it up to you!

Recent News: Life is good -Work is good. That’s the important stuff. At work I’ve been kicking butt and taken numbers πŸ™‚ really I was just informed that I was going to be nominated for Rookie of the Year in the system…unfortunately my paperwork did not get in on time so I’m not actually in the pool – but that’s okay, It’s still an honor to be (theoretically) nominated πŸ™‚ I’ve been having lots of programs at the library that have been really successful and I really enjoy it out here!

Home life is good too. Matthew and I are really happy πŸ™‚ He’s been playing lots of hockey and invariably getting hurt but he’s happy so I’m (most of the times) happy. He’s been playing really well even though he’s been sick. Work for him has been going well as well so that’s excellent.

However, on the health front I’ve not been doing so well. I’ve been so miserable with sinus infection after sinus infection after sinus infection! I finally had CT Scans done and the outcome is that I have to get better or else I have to have surgery. The medicine plan the ENT has me on seems be working but I am starting to feel sick again, like my throat is raw and I don’t know if its sickness or if it’s the medicine…So we’ll see in January when I check back in with the ENT.

Other interesting things that I have been doing:
I have been Knitting up a STORM and crochetting some too πŸ™‚
Let me see if I can get some pictures uploaded….
Ahhh poop! Matthew has those pictures that I wanted to upload! MATTHEW!!! lol
So I’ll tell you about them and then upload them πŸ™‚

For Turkey-christmas with the Coleman side of the family I was making some holiday gifts. For Katie I gave her my first pair of socks I ever knitted and two sets of fingerless gloves. For Mom I gave her a pink and white beach bag and have to make her another pair of fingerless gloves. For Mandy she got a hat and scarf and I have to make her a pair of fingerless gloves. For all my coworkers I made them their own fingerless gloves. Can you guess the theme here???? I figured out how to make them and I LOVE TO MAKE THEM! I also taught myself how to make some cute beaded stitch markers πŸ™‚

Now I still have a christmas to go…but I don’t think I’ll be making anything for them this year….I might have to try and spread the gifts out over the year so that I can give them handmade gifts at birthdays!

So with (all) that being said I should probably get back to my lunch and work. Hope everyone is well and that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Hanukkah! πŸ™‚

OH and I’ll try and upload a picture of Vlad, my gingerbread Chippendale – he’s sooo cute :-)!!

Wow, it’s been a while….

So I know I’ve been away for a while, things have just been busy and I haven’t been able to bring myself to type, when I spent so much time thinking “I should really do something with my time” but now that I’m doing something with 40 hours of my time each week, I feel entitled to freely post online, without fear that I’m being lazy – damnit I’m allowed a post or two a week! πŸ˜›

Enough with that – Let me catch you up with my life, in reverse chronological order:

Tomorrow, June 9, is Matthew and My’s 2nd anniversary – wooohooo!  Can I tell you a huge pet peeve??  When people find out we’ve only been married for 2 years and they say “Oh that’s not very long” because YES it is very long, we’ve been dating for SEVEN years ppl! Just b/c we didn’t tie the knot a year after we met doesn’t mean we don’t know each other.  Ugh, that’s a huge pet peeve – but I think Matthew feels the same way, so that makes me feel better.  We’re kinda celebrating right now, but not like last year (10 Geocaches in one day….insane!) I gave him his gift, well our gift, a Red Wings shaped and decorated cake – it’s freakin sweeeet! When I upload the pics (which could be next month) I’ll let you know.  If you want to know the cake maker let me know – she does awesome stuff!!!

This past week has been my first week of work as a Children’s Librarian, an official one! It’s been a good week!!! I reallly like the place, the people, the kids, even the location (which is 50 mins from home)  I think it’s going to be a great place to work and make name for myself and summer Reading Program has kicked off so we have a lot of people in the library – loads of fun!

Along with the new job I got a new car – a 2007 Dodge Caliber – his name is Dewey and he’s muy sexy

Dewey!

I got him with 4000 miles on him and now he has 8000 – he’s getting old fast πŸ˜› but I love him so!

I’ve been to a slew of weddings these past few weeks and have a few more to go to next month – I’m looking forward them.

Well I think that’s all for now – been nice to tell you all what I’ve been up to and that I haven’t died or anything crazy like that…just been way busy and now I think I need a nap πŸ˜›

Ciao! Anna

A long overdue update….

So I guess I owe this to my loyal readers (hah, yeah right!)….but here’s an overdue update in all things Bananas!

I have finally found a real library job! Unfortunately it is only a Library Assistant I (so much for a Master’s degree….) but in 3 months I can apply for other positions and it’s much more likely for me to move into something better. So I’m biding my time. The job is also only part time 😦 but I can keep the Y job, which kinda makes me happy (weird, I know). I would feel really bad if I had to leave this job right now b/c I just started working intensively with two children who have some serious problems. I don’t mind transferring control of this to other teachers but the bad thing is some of the veteran teachers are unwilling to work with these children for whatever reasons. I can understand their viewpoint but it’s obvious that these kids need some TLC along with loads of discipline. So I want to stay to see how my method pans out (usually I do pretty well) and I want to give these kids a good chance at life.

On Labor Day weekend we had our Graduation/Birthday/Labor Day bash and it went off well! We had 47 people and people seemed to have a great time. It was really awesome to see some of our friends from college like Jeremy and Greg and their girlfriends – I’m so happy for them both. Also Ben and Gruden. And lastly – my Girls – Nikki/Matt, Sarah/Andy, and D….we’ll eventually get us all together – promise. I also had a really good time with my cousin-in-laws πŸ™‚ and everyone else that come over! Seriously a lot of fun! And a big thank you to those who stuck around to clean up! πŸ™‚ You know who you are! ;-). It was really nice to get everyone together and just enjoy ourselves. I think we’ll have to do it again.

Other things in my life….

  • I would like to do a 5K walk, maybe in the spring – if anyone wants to kick my butt in gear or just walk with me I’d really enjoy the company.
  • Matthew is working on putting together a salt water aquarium! I’m way excited to have salt water fishies!!
  • I’ve been crochetting up a storm here….even have a few orders…I’m thinking about selling some of the stuff i make to consignment shops just to make a few extra bucks.
  • I’m feeling myself swing back towards scrapbooking too, I took a 3 week hiatus.
  • Matthew’s back to playing hockey again! Yay! If anyone wants to come with me to watch the games, just let me know!
  • I think we might be changing our cell phone numbers kinda soon – we’ll see though.
  • I’m really looking forward to a vacation at thanksgiving time. We’re going to fla to see the fam and maybe stop in GA at the big aquarium and maybe go to epcot for a day! Drink around the World – Tour #2!

And yes, I know I still owe you all some pictures yet, I need to re-clean and such and then take them….I’ll get them by thanksgiving – and probably a video too. But anyways, I’m going to go clean, I want to clean….weird, I know.

Peace everyone!!

Rollercoaster Week

Well This is my birthday week – generally I’m excited about my birthday, you know happy and stuff, but this week has just gotten off to a bad beginning. I think it has cursed my birthday and I’m now worried that someone else will die on my birthday next year 😦 Let me explain:

1 yr ago a day or two before my birthday Matthew’s Grandma passed away – albeit, expectantly – we were fortunate enough to have a chance to say good bye to her a few weeks before that.

Unfortunately, yesterday we got word that Matthew’s Uncle Bill passed away, by way of drowning. I don’t understand what happened or why it happened but this very young man of 57, watching his children grow up (one just graduated from school…) should not have faced this terrible fate. Yes, I think I am mad – no one deserves to lose someone that way, and such a good person should not have been taken from this earth. It is truly a tragedy. I am trying to stay somewhat positive, esp for Matthew. I have to remind myself that his death is a perfect example of living life to the fullest and NEVER taking a day for granted. Also, treasure the present, appreciate the future and relish the past. Yes these sayings are somewhat contrite but I feel like this is all that we are left with – our memories and living to our fullest. Life should never be taken for granted. I am just as guilty as the next person for getting upset at the small things but I find myself now thinking “Is getting upset about this such a big deal? Wouldn’t my time that I am spending being angry be better spent if I was happy?” I’m not ignoring things that would make me mad but rather I am being direct and assertive – “This hurt my feelings, please stop/apologize” instead of letting it eat me up inside.

Anyways I’m done verbally vomitting….

Thank you Bill for the gift to see how valuable life really is – Rest in Peace.

Also – as a birthday gift I am accepting boxes of kleenex, k? Thx.

Smupdate…er…Update!

Been pretty busy these past few days, so forgive me for my delinquency.

Well I’ve been working a ton, applying a bunch, and HURRAY HURRAY I have a job interview on the 28th.Β  However I’ve also applied for another position and I realllly want that one, so we’ll see what happens.

My birthday is steadily approaching, only 4 more days (This friday, the 24th, my Golden Birthday!)Β  As I like it, I have been receiving my presents well in advance of the actual day πŸ™‚ That way I don’t have pleasure overload ;-).Β  So far the awesome presents I have recieved are: Matthew – new Desk, docking station, and my brick πŸ™‚Β Β  Helen – Some awesome new ecco shoes!!!Β  They are sooo sweeeet! I need them for the job interview next week so I’m breaking them in.Β  I’ll take a pic later this week and upload it – yes they are that sweet.

Speaking of birthdays, I am going to be having a dinner at Iron Chef Hibachi Grill Friday night – I think only 6 people can go (not including Matthew and myself) so first come first serve.Β  However, we’ll be having games and what not at the house afterwards and all can come for that.Β  But if you want to wait till the official party, Sept 1st, which is also a Graduation and labor day party, you may – I won’t cry…much πŸ˜› Email me for info – k?thx.

On to other things that are awesome – we are finally getting a water softener!Β  YIPPEEEEE!!! Hard water NO MORE! and a reverse osmosis machine for our drinking water – yeah you could pee in it and have pristine clean drinking water! I’m very excited about that! I’ll be selling bottles of water for a quarter!Β  lol, j/k – but seriously, we don’t have them YET, we’re still waiting for the company who installs them to call us.Β  If we don’t hear anything tomorrow I am calling and requiring they install it for free – yes you just watch me pull that off!

And onto other things –Β  I’ve been reading a few books (who knew with free time what was possible!) one of the books that I am reading is “Happier” by Tal Ben-Shahar – I am enjoying it immensely!Β  But it’s a slow process b/c it requires you to do a little homework, which I have to admit I enjoy. Β  The other book I’m reading is “The Deadline” by Chris CrutcherΒ  – a YA book that is really good!

Otherwise that has been my life – I’ve been hanging out with a co-worker and that’s been fun and interesting – Matthew and I are trying to make friends up by us since it seems like no one wants to travel to visit us.Β  Regardless, we’ve had a pretty good time :-).Β  Alright, that’s it for now – Have a good one!

A Lego Brick?!

Yes, that’s right folks – I am the proud new owner of a red lego brick….Now you may say, but Anna a lego brick is nothing, you can get one for a quarter – oh contrare (sp?) my friend!

THIS is the lego brick, I speaketh of:

This is normal looking brick is really a 250 GB USB 2.0 Harddrive – yes a harddrive one could play with πŸ™‚ Isn’t it pretty!

So why do I have this? Well 1 because it was my birthday gift from Matthew – Thanks Chieu! and 2 I really need a lot of space for all my pictures and music – already my hard-drive on my new reformatted laptop was reaching 45% full….without what I had on before. Sooo that’s why – Isn’t it beautiful????

Also, does anyone have a basement they want to finish? I know the right people – Owen Corning – Seriously it’s some goooood stuff -I’d have my basement done in it within a heartbeat but I want a deck first. So if anyone is interested please let me know – I’ll get you the best sales persons in the world – seriously a great man with integrity, now how many door to door salespeople can you say that of??

Okay that’s all, I’m off to bed – night all!

Cinnamon Toothpaste

So Matthew’s job just gave him a bunch of toothbrushes and toothpaste b/c they had to get rid of some old product.Β  Well one of the toothpaste flavors is cinnamon, which I happen to love (the cinnamon flavor) but to my disappointment, last night as I brushed my teeth, I realized that this cinnamon is spicy.

Now I realize that everything with the cinnamon flavor label is spicy or hot, but SERIOUSLY is cinnamon spicy??Β  NO!Β  I want normal cinnamon flavored stuff!Β  Not the Big Red Cinnamon stuff – the real natural cinnamon flavored stuff.Β  Come on toothpaste ppl, get your act together already!

With that being said, I would now like some cinnamon ice cream from graeters….but they dont’ make it till the holiday season 😦 4 more months to go 😦

That is all for now, I hope to take some pictures and upload them today! TTYL
