Oh my goodness! It’s been so long!!!

I have been terrible about updating my blog, for a few reasons that I’ll explain later.

For those of you that don’t know – I’m pregnant!! I’m week 16 and feeling pretty good ๐Ÿ™‚

Part of the reason I haven’t felt compelled to update was that we had been trying for quite a while and I had been hopeful it would be more immediate, unfortunately that wasn’t the case and we had to try for about 8 months. I had happy things happening in my life but what I wanted to blog about wasn’t exactly public knowledge. But now I’m feeling pretty good and excited and things are going well for me so I can’t complain ๐Ÿ™‚

So I had my doc appt today and got to hear the babies heartbeat through the doppler! I’m hoping to attach it to this post so you can hear it! The baby is healthy and in a few weeks we’ll be able to determine the sex! I can’t wait!!! I have no idea what it will be, so it’s been hard to make any gifts for the baby or even think of names. If you listen to the heartbeat you’ll hear the doc trying to find the heartbeat, but you can tell when it’s the babies – it’s louder and more consistent and it’s the last half of the sound recording.

Baby’s Heart Beat

Things otherwise are going pretty well for me – work is busy busy busy but I like that and I’ve been doing some presentations for Baby Sign Language (I’m sooo excited that I can finally implement that into MY child’s life). I’ve been doing things with family and friends almost every weekend! And this weekend I get to look forward to seeing Alyson, Landon and Pat!

Okay, that’s it for tonight! Night all!

Come Get You Some!

So in reference to my title of this post, the saying is from the sign of a business that I pass EVERYDAY on my way to work…and this sign is the BANE of my existance. I hate the fact that it says “Come Get You Some” in reference to money….oh vey! So I had to share my disdain with everyone else.

And Yes, I am Alive and well (for the most part) I just haven’t had much time at home to update my blog, let alone breath. But I promise I’ll make it up to you!

Recent News: Life is good -Work is good. That’s the important stuff. At work I’ve been kicking butt and taken numbers ๐Ÿ™‚ really I was just informed that I was going to be nominated for Rookie of the Year in the system…unfortunately my paperwork did not get in on time so I’m not actually in the pool – but that’s okay, It’s still an honor to be (theoretically) nominated ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been having lots of programs at the library that have been really successful and I really enjoy it out here!

Home life is good too. Matthew and I are really happy ๐Ÿ™‚ He’s been playing lots of hockey and invariably getting hurt but he’s happy so I’m (most of the times) happy. He’s been playing really well even though he’s been sick. Work for him has been going well as well so that’s excellent.

However, on the health front I’ve not been doing so well. I’ve been so miserable with sinus infection after sinus infection after sinus infection! I finally had CT Scans done and the outcome is that I have to get better or else I have to have surgery. The medicine plan the ENT has me on seems be working but I am starting to feel sick again, like my throat is raw and I don’t know if its sickness or if it’s the medicine…So we’ll see in January when I check back in with the ENT.

Other interesting things that I have been doing:
I have been Knitting up a STORM and crochetting some too ๐Ÿ™‚
Let me see if I can get some pictures uploaded….
Ahhh poop! Matthew has those pictures that I wanted to upload! MATTHEW!!! lol
So I’ll tell you about them and then upload them ๐Ÿ™‚

For Turkey-christmas with the Coleman side of the family I was making some holiday gifts. For Katie I gave her my first pair of socks I ever knitted and two sets of fingerless gloves. For Mom I gave her a pink and white beach bag and have to make her another pair of fingerless gloves. For Mandy she got a hat and scarf and I have to make her a pair of fingerless gloves. For all my coworkers I made them their own fingerless gloves. Can you guess the theme here???? I figured out how to make them and I LOVE TO MAKE THEM! I also taught myself how to make some cute beaded stitch markers ๐Ÿ™‚

Now I still have a christmas to go…but I don’t think I’ll be making anything for them this year….I might have to try and spread the gifts out over the year so that I can give them handmade gifts at birthdays!

So with (all) that being said I should probably get back to my lunch and work. Hope everyone is well and that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Hanukkah! ๐Ÿ™‚

OH and I’ll try and upload a picture of Vlad, my gingerbread Chippendale – he’s sooo cute :-)!!

My SupPresent

So as some of you know, Matthew had a “suppresent” for me.ย  The clues were: It was outside the entire day, while Matthew was at work; and it could not be in the house b/c it would “contaminate” the house.

So here’s what it was:

Some beautiful Mum’s ๐Ÿ™‚ Now if anyone has any clue where to plan them let me know (Sun good/bad, shade good/bad, do I have to remove them in the winter – can I put them in an indoor planter if they do…etc…)

Alright- that’s all – I’ll try and post more pictures as my birthday approaches!

Oh and here’s a great picture of me! AT work, working HARD!

The job

So I started my new job – I’m working as a Library Assistant, which, yes, would not have been my first choice – I’ve tried to get jobs as a Librarian in many different capacities but have found it to be extremely difficult.ย  So I got my foot in the door with the LA position, Part time.ย  In 3 months I can apply for another job in the system and have a much better chance of moving up.

So I started this past week and on the first day on the job I completely floored my boss – I started doing the normal stuff I should be doing, by myself – no help – just went at it.ย  I did fairly well, demonstrated that I’m competent, and when I’m not sure I speak up. ย  She clued me into to some of things I’ll be doing – mostly helping to incorporate baby sign language into the programs and possibly start a baby signs program.ย  I’m definitely excited about this!ย  The other thing she told me to do was to get a good reputation within the system and this will help me get hired for a better job.ย  I think I can do this fairly easily – one way I’m going to try doing it is to volunteer to work at other branches – then I get to check them out and wow them by my mad skills.ย  I can start doing this after 30 days, so I’m eager to get trained and “approved”.

That’s about it for now – I’m pretty happy about all this – today I have a day off from the library (not the Y) so I’m getting some stuff done around the house. – So that’s all for now!

A long overdue update….

So I guess I owe this to my loyal readers (hah, yeah right!)….but here’s an overdue update in all things Bananas!

I have finally found a real library job! Unfortunately it is only a Library Assistant I (so much for a Master’s degree….) but in 3 months I can apply for other positions and it’s much more likely for me to move into something better. So I’m biding my time. The job is also only part time ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but I can keep the Y job, which kinda makes me happy (weird, I know). I would feel really bad if I had to leave this job right now b/c I just started working intensively with two children who have some serious problems. I don’t mind transferring control of this to other teachers but the bad thing is some of the veteran teachers are unwilling to work with these children for whatever reasons. I can understand their viewpoint but it’s obvious that these kids need some TLC along with loads of discipline. So I want to stay to see how my method pans out (usually I do pretty well) and I want to give these kids a good chance at life.

On Labor Day weekend we had our Graduation/Birthday/Labor Day bash and it went off well! We had 47 people and people seemed to have a great time. It was really awesome to see some of our friends from college like Jeremy and Greg and their girlfriends – I’m so happy for them both. Also Ben and Gruden. And lastly – my Girls – Nikki/Matt, Sarah/Andy, and D….we’ll eventually get us all together – promise. I also had a really good time with my cousin-in-laws ๐Ÿ™‚ and everyone else that come over! Seriously a lot of fun! And a big thank you to those who stuck around to clean up! ๐Ÿ™‚ You know who you are! ;-). It was really nice to get everyone together and just enjoy ourselves. I think we’ll have to do it again.

Other things in my life….

  • I would like to do a 5K walk, maybe in the spring – if anyone wants to kick my butt in gear or just walk with me I’d really enjoy the company.
  • Matthew is working on putting together a salt water aquarium! I’m way excited to have salt water fishies!!
  • I’ve been crochetting up a storm here….even have a few orders…I’m thinking about selling some of the stuff i make to consignment shops just to make a few extra bucks.
  • I’m feeling myself swing back towards scrapbooking too, I took a 3 week hiatus.
  • Matthew’s back to playing hockey again! Yay! If anyone wants to come with me to watch the games, just let me know!
  • I think we might be changing our cell phone numbers kinda soon – we’ll see though.
  • I’m really looking forward to a vacation at thanksgiving time. We’re going to fla to see the fam and maybe stop in GA at the big aquarium and maybe go to epcot for a day! Drink around the World – Tour #2!

And yes, I know I still owe you all some pictures yet, I need to re-clean and such and then take them….I’ll get them by thanksgiving – and probably a video too. But anyways, I’m going to go clean, I want to clean….weird, I know.

Peace everyone!!

Been pretty busy these past few days, so forgive me for my delinquency.

Well I’ve been working a ton, applying a bunch, and HURRAY HURRAY I have a job interview on the 28th.ย  However I’ve also applied for another position and I realllly want that one, so we’ll see what happens.

My birthday is steadily approaching, only 4 more days (This friday, the 24th, my Golden Birthday!)ย  As I like it, I have been receiving my presents well in advance of the actual day ๐Ÿ™‚ That way I don’t have pleasure overload ;-).ย  So far the awesome presents I have recieved are: Matthew – new Desk, docking station, and my brick ๐Ÿ™‚ย ย  Helen – Some awesome new ecco shoes!!!ย  They are sooo sweeeet! I need them for the job interview next week so I’m breaking them in.ย  I’ll take a pic later this week and upload it – yes they are that sweet.

Speaking of birthdays, I am going to be having a dinner at Iron Chef Hibachi Grill Friday night – I think only 6 people can go (not including Matthew and myself) so first come first serve.ย  However, we’ll be having games and what not at the house afterwards and all can come for that.ย  But if you want to wait till the official party, Sept 1st, which is also a Graduation and labor day party, you may – I won’t cry…much ๐Ÿ˜› Email me for info – k?thx.

On to other things that are awesome – we are finally getting a water softener!ย  YIPPEEEEE!!! Hard water NO MORE! and a reverse osmosis machine for our drinking water – yeah you could pee in it and have pristine clean drinking water! I’m very excited about that! I’ll be selling bottles of water for a quarter!ย  lol, j/k – but seriously, we don’t have them YET, we’re still waiting for the company who installs them to call us.ย  If we don’t hear anything tomorrow I am calling and requiring they install it for free – yes you just watch me pull that off!

And onto other things –ย  I’ve been reading a few books (who knew with free time what was possible!) one of the books that I am reading is “Happier” by Tal Ben-Shahar – I am enjoying it immensely!ย  But it’s a slow process b/c it requires you to do a little homework, which I have to admit I enjoy. ย  The other book I’m reading is “The Deadline” by Chris Crutcherย  – a YA book that is really good!

Otherwise that has been my life – I’ve been hanging out with a co-worker and that’s been fun and interesting – Matthew and I are trying to make friends up by us since it seems like no one wants to travel to visit us.ย  Regardless, we’ve had a pretty good time :-).ย  Alright, that’s it for now – Have a good one!

Cinnamon Toothpaste

So Matthew’s job just gave him a bunch of toothbrushes and toothpaste b/c they had to get rid of some old product.ย  Well one of the toothpaste flavors is cinnamon, which I happen to love (the cinnamon flavor) but to my disappointment, last night as I brushed my teeth, I realized that this cinnamon is spicy.

Now I realize that everything with the cinnamon flavor label is spicy or hot, but SERIOUSLY is cinnamon spicy??ย  NO!ย  I want normal cinnamon flavored stuff!ย  Not the Big Red Cinnamon stuff – the real natural cinnamon flavored stuff.ย  Come on toothpaste ppl, get your act together already!

With that being said, I would now like some cinnamon ice cream from graeters….but they dont’ make it till the holiday season ๐Ÿ˜ฆ 4 more months to go ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

That is all for now, I hope to take some pictures and upload them today! TTYL
