It’s been a while

So I know…it’s been a while…I’m sorry – it’s not you, it’s me. Really. Of course I still love you!

Sigh – I have been sooo busy that I haven’t had a chance to breath, let alone update – but I’m taking a few valuable minutes to do that, just for you.

So first things first: If you want to keep up with me, informally of course, follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/librarianAnna
I update that thing all the time, or anytime I go to the bathroom.
Which then updates my Facebook page – so find me there too…and on facebook I take random pictures and put them on there immediately (via phone – I love it!)

Now for the life – recent hurrah’s:
-I got onto CSC!!! Wooohooooo! It’s a two year commitment and I’m looking forward to it!
-Matthew celebrated his birthday and let me tell you – he was SHOCKED by his gift. He had NO idea that I did this, nor did he pick up on any of the lies. I made Matthew a Boudoir Album! I went through Varland Photography to do this and it was AWESOME! As soon as the pictures are online I’ll put a link here. But he really had NO CLUE that I did this and I thought for sure that he had an inkling..nope, nothing, nada. He was just so stunned he couldn’t talk. And he really like the pictures 🙂 I am awesome :-).
-I got to see my sistah!

and now I have to go…I’ll try and update soon.

Wow, it’s been a while….

So I know I’ve been away for a while, things have just been busy and I haven’t been able to bring myself to type, when I spent so much time thinking “I should really do something with my time” but now that I’m doing something with 40 hours of my time each week, I feel entitled to freely post online, without fear that I’m being lazy – damnit I’m allowed a post or two a week! 😛

Enough with that – Let me catch you up with my life, in reverse chronological order:

Tomorrow, June 9, is Matthew and My’s 2nd anniversary – wooohooo!  Can I tell you a huge pet peeve??  When people find out we’ve only been married for 2 years and they say “Oh that’s not very long” because YES it is very long, we’ve been dating for SEVEN years ppl! Just b/c we didn’t tie the knot a year after we met doesn’t mean we don’t know each other.  Ugh, that’s a huge pet peeve – but I think Matthew feels the same way, so that makes me feel better.  We’re kinda celebrating right now, but not like last year (10 Geocaches in one day….insane!) I gave him his gift, well our gift, a Red Wings shaped and decorated cake – it’s freakin sweeeet! When I upload the pics (which could be next month) I’ll let you know.  If you want to know the cake maker let me know – she does awesome stuff!!!

This past week has been my first week of work as a Children’s Librarian, an official one! It’s been a good week!!! I reallly like the place, the people, the kids, even the location (which is 50 mins from home)  I think it’s going to be a great place to work and make name for myself and summer Reading Program has kicked off so we have a lot of people in the library – loads of fun!

Along with the new job I got a new car – a 2007 Dodge Caliber – his name is Dewey and he’s muy sexy

Dewey!

I got him with 4000 miles on him and now he has 8000 – he’s getting old fast 😛 but I love him so!

I’ve been to a slew of weddings these past few weeks and have a few more to go to next month – I’m looking forward them.

Well I think that’s all for now – been nice to tell you all what I’ve been up to and that I haven’t died or anything crazy like that…just been way busy and now I think I need a nap 😛

Ciao! Anna

Whoa! 2008!

So it’s 2008 and I have started the year of with a bang!

1) I put in my two weeks notice for the daycare – I still don’t have another job but it’s time – I’m ready to move on and really focus on things that need my focus. I have some bitterness towards this leaving for many reasons but I’m trying to be as nice as possible. If you want details give me a call.

2) Matthew and I found a great bargain at Sofa Express – they are going bankrupt and we found a great bedroom set really cheap – so we now have a real bedroom set, two nightstands, a queen bed with head and foot boards, dresser with mirror, and a chest of drawers. We even got nice lamps for the bedside and the dresser. I’ll put in pictures and you can check them out yourself!

3) I think this year I’m going to try and sell my crocheted stuff.  So I’m taking orders.  I’m also going to make at least one child’s sized sweaters.

4) I guess another resolution is to try and keep the laundry washed and folded without having piles of it.  More over I want to keep the bedroom looking nice and pretty.  Hell I might even make the bed EVERYDAY! eh, once a week will be enough.

Alright that’s it for now, I need to go switch the laundry and clean up and get to the stores soon.  I’ll post again this week (yell at me if I don’t!)

The job

So I started my new job – I’m working as a Library Assistant, which, yes, would not have been my first choice – I’ve tried to get jobs as a Librarian in many different capacities but have found it to be extremely difficult.  So I got my foot in the door with the LA position, Part time.  In 3 months I can apply for another job in the system and have a much better chance of moving up.

So I started this past week and on the first day on the job I completely floored my boss – I started doing the normal stuff I should be doing, by myself – no help – just went at it.  I did fairly well, demonstrated that I’m competent, and when I’m not sure I speak up.   She clued me into to some of things I’ll be doing – mostly helping to incorporate baby sign language into the programs and possibly start a baby signs program.  I’m definitely excited about this!  The other thing she told me to do was to get a good reputation within the system and this will help me get hired for a better job.  I think I can do this fairly easily – one way I’m going to try doing it is to volunteer to work at other branches – then I get to check them out and wow them by my mad skills.  I can start doing this after 30 days, so I’m eager to get trained and “approved”.

That’s about it for now – I’m pretty happy about all this – today I have a day off from the library (not the Y) so I’m getting some stuff done around the house. – So that’s all for now!
